Associate Professor Orapan Nabangchang
Dr. Orapan Nabangchang completed her Bachelor Degree from the University of York, UK in the field of 
Politics and Sociology; her Masters in Rural Development from the University of East Anglia, UK and her Ph.D. in Land Economy from University of Cambridge, UK. Dr. Orapan was Deputy Director of the Economy and Environment Program for Southeast Asia (EEPSEA) which is an agency that aims at building capacities of environmental economists in this Region and subsequently became the Director of the Economy and Environment Institute of the Lower Mekong Sub-Region (EEI-LMS) which is an organization with similar mandates to EEPSEA but covers only Lao PDR, Myanmar and Thailand. She has been involved in training programs in Southeast Asian countries and organizer and Resource Persons in the field of economic valuation of natural resources and the environment. Dr. Orapan has conducted research for agencies that are interested in the theory and application of environmental economics such as the Court of Justices, the Department of National Park Wildlife and Plants and the Department of Marine and Coastal Resources, United Nations Development Programme, UN Environment Programme , World Wildlife Fund, the International Union for Conservation of Nature: IUCN and the Asean Center of Biodiversity (ACB
Apart from being an Advisory Board Member of the Economy and Environment Partnership for Lower Mekong Sub-Region (EEI-LMS) Research Center, Dr. Orapan is now Vice President of the Asian Association of Environmental and Resource Economics (AAERE). She also currently serves as the Chair of the Department of Marine and Coastal Resources’ Working Group on Economics Issues Related to Coastal and Marine Resources, Member of the Sub-Committtee and National Committee on Policy and Planning of Coastal and Marine Resources.
