National Trialogue Workshop under the National Ecosystem Assessment (NEA)

 

The project was honored by opening remarks from Ms. Marlene Nilsson, Deputy Regional Director of UNEP; Ms. Irina Goryunova, Deputy Resident Representative of UNDP; and Dr. Feng Jing, Chief of the Culture Unit at UNESCO Bangkok, who highlighted the significance of the workshop and its contribution to advancing sustainable marine and coastal development in the region.

 

The workshop also provided a platform for the lead authors to present their findings and engage in discussions with a broad range of stakeholders, including representatives from government agencies, the private sector, international organizations, academic institutions, and civil society organizations. The session on policy recommendations was led by Professor Padermsak Jarayabhand, Project Director; Dr. Petch Manopawitr, Project Manager; Ms. Wipada Lalitpatrakit, Project Coordinator; and the lead authors, including Associate Professor Thamasak Yeemin, Assistant Professor Wichin Suebpala, Mr. Sakanan Plathong, Associate Professor Orapan Na Bangchang, Associate Professor Narumon Arunothai, Professor Suvaluck Satumanatpan, and Dr. Withet Srinet. Through interactive discussions and knowledge exchange, participants contributed valuable insights to strengthen the policy recommendations and enhance their relevance and applicability for achieving sustainable marine and coastal ecosystem management in Thailand.
